 Earlie Frederick “Freddy” Close, 53, of Macon died January 23, 2013, at his 
residence.
 He was born October 18, 1959 in Honolulu, HI, to Edith Avis Field Close of 
Nashville and the late Earle Roland Close. He was employed with the YKK Zipper 
Co. as a machine mechanic and was a member of Nashville United Methodist 
Church. He attended Valdosta State University and Georgia Tech. He was an avid 
outdoorsman and loved fishing. He was preceded in death by a niece, Katie 
Hendley.
 Survivors, in addition to his mother, include three sisters, Donna Close of 
Nashville, Polly (Dr. Michael) Whittle of Cordele, and Carol (Wayne) Hendley of 
Nashville; niece, Leslie Montgomery of Nashville; nephew, Lance (Caroline) 
Hendley of Nashville; two great-nephews, Dallas and Eli Montgomery of 
Nashville; special friend, Marie McGraw of Macon.
 Funeral services were held January 26 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Futch and Mr. Kenny Walker officiating.
 Interment followed at Nashville Memorial Gardens.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
