 Velma S. Cone, 96, of Ray City died March 31, 2008 at her residence.
 Born in Murphy to the late John and Henrietta Dupree Sowell, she was a 
homemaker and member of Ray City United Methodist Church.
 Survivors include three daughters, Effie Mae Roberts of Valdosta, Rita C. 
Bennefield and Elizabeth Wallace both of Ray City; son, J.D. Cone of Ray City; 
24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren, several 
nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held April 3 at 11 a.m. at Ray City United Methodist 
Church.
 Interment was in New Ramah Cemetery.
 Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
