Born June 4, 1911 in Berrien Co. to the late J. Henry and Hattie Roberson Gaskins, she was a homemaker and member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to the late Henry Winfred Connell. Survivors include two daughters, Betty James of Nashville and Jo Mathis of Adel; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 16, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "Amazing Grace" and Beulah Land." Interment was in Gaskins Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rusty Darby, Ronnie Gaskins, Scott James, Tony James, Tim Tygart, Jimmy Gaskins, Greg Mathis, Guy Mathis. Lovein was in charge of arrangements.
