Plimp Cook Takes Own Life Mr. J. Plimp Cook, Berrien County man, took his own life at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elza Miller last Thursday afternoon with a shot from a rifle, it is reported here. The exact hour of the tragedy is not known, however, he was found in the living room of the Miller home about 4:30 P.M. The deceased was said to have been separated from his wife about three months, and it is understood a note found in his pocket stated that was the reason for the suicide. Mr. Cook, about 36 years of age, was born and reared in this county. He had previously served three years in the Army and Navy. He was well known. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Empire Church by Rev. C.H. Vickers. Interment followed in the church cemetery. There were many beautiful floral offerings. Those surviving are his widow, his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
