The Berrien Press--Harvey Copeland, 83, of Alapaha died June 22, 2003 at his 
residence.
 Born Dec. 10, 1919 in Toombs Co. to the late Thomas Jefferson and Miley 
Elizabeth Copeland, he was a retired train engineer for Atlantic Steel Co.
 Survivors include one daughter, Frances Willis of Alapaha, two sons, Gene 
Copeland and Harold Copeland, both of Atlanta; one step daughter, Vickie 
Brogdon of Alapaha; one step son, Kenneth Bell of Forsyth; one sister, Lula 
Bell Smith of Vidalia; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held June 25 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Betty Joiner provided 
selected music.
 Interment was in Tift Memorial Gardens.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
