He was a lifelong resident of Nashville and a retired farmer. He was a member of Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church and the widower of Pauline Connell Cornelius who died in 1983. He is survived by five daughters, Dorothy Giddens, Leila Jeffords, Sue Lasseter, all of Nashville, Maxie Tatum, Miami, FL and Faye Vickers, Jacksonville, FL; eight sons, Clarence Homer Cornelius, Jr., Harry Cornelius and David Cornelius all of West Palm Beach, FL, Earl Cornelius, Rudolph Cornelius and Donald Cornelius all of Nashville, Benny C. Cornelius, Hilliard, FL and Robert Cornelius, Thomasville; four sisters, Vera Connell, Tallahassee, FL, Clarice Ducanis, Miami, FL, Ida Mae Jeffords and Ruth Burnsed both of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Chester Cornelius, Nashville; 36 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and on great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Robert Register and the Rev. Fred Hesters officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation from 2-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will be taken to the residence Wednesday at 10 a.m. to await the hour of services. Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of services.
