Born March 1, 1930, in Sunflower County, MS to the late Earl Benjamin and Myrtle Bell Warren Coleman, she was a homemaker and retired from Nashville Mills in utilities. She was a member of LongBridge Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Willie D. Ash and Lacy Chester Cornelius; daughter, Linda Ash Westberry; son, Lacy Cornelius; two grandsons, Ronnie Ash and Butch Cornelius; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two sons, Ed (Sue) Ash of Nashville and Larry (Carolyn) Cornelius of Dacula; daughter, Sally (Leonard) Shaw of Sylvester; brother, Richard D. Coleman of Ray City; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held December 4 at 11 a.m. at Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Robert Skinner and Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Gail Blount and Darlene Parker sang “Beulah Land” and “Amazing Grace.” Interment followed at LongBridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Josh Pousey, Brandon Harnage, Daniel O’Berry, Lamar Vowell, Derrick Cornelius, Billy Rowan. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
