Mrs. Cribb was a native Berrien Countian, having been born in this area on February 1, 1893. She was the former Miss Lottie Flanders, a daughter of the late Charlie and Linnie Rowe Flanders. She was married to Jim Flanders (incorrect, should say Cribb) who preceded her in death on January 27, 1958. Funeral services were conducted from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, of which denomination the deceased was long an active member, at 4 o’clock on Friday afternoon, July 12. Officiating at the final rites were the Reverends Olen Bennett and W.L. Vining, both of whom combined to offer a lasting tribute to the life of the deceased. Music was provided by the Alapaha Methodist Church Choir, which sang two tender hymns, Beyond the Sunset and In an Land Where We Will Never Grow Old. With an active escort composed of Lewis Flanders, James Flanders, Julian Giddens, Kenneth Flanders, Ronald Williams, and Jordan Flanders accompanying, Mrs. Cribb was laid to rest in the churchyard cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Rufus Powell, Paul Luke, Arthur Moore, O.B. Jones, Edwin Gaskins, and Troy Owen. Surviving Mrs. Cribb are two sisters, Mrs. M.W. Griner, Nashville, and Miss Polly Flanders, Alapaha, and one brother, J.W. Flanders, Nashville. She also leaves on half-sister, Mrs. Mary Luke, Broker, Fla., and a number of nieces and nephews.
