Born October 26, 1927, in Berrien County to the late Marcelious and Frances W Williams Cumbus, he was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of F First Baptist Church of Ray City. He is survived by his wife, Lois Gunter Cumbus of Ray City; four sons, David Cumbus and Junior Cumbus both of Nashville, Jimmy Kersey of Moultrie, and Paul Kersey of Brookfield; five daughters, Grace Woods of Adel, Jean Strawder, Marilyn Strawder, and Melba Evans, all of Nashville, Debra Fountain of Valdosta; two sisters, Betty Rigdon of Nashville and Gloria Ann White of Eustis, FL; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held November 24 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Cemetery with with Rev. Jeff Palmer officiating. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
