 James Edward Cunningham, 74, of Valdosta died April 14, 2008 at his residence.
 Born Nov. 12, 1933 in Concord, TN to the late R.M. and Ruth Kirby Cunningham, 
he was retired from the U.S. Air Force and a retired hospital/nursing home 
administrator. he was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and enjoyed 
fishing, putting smiles on people's faces, and he was willing to help others in 
need.
 Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lawanna Cummingham; daughter and son 
in law, Tammy and Dennis Thomas; son and daughter in law, Tim and Glendon 
Cummingham; grandchildren, Hayley Blair Thomas, Clifton Blayne Thomas and 
Ashlyn Blythe Thomas, all of Valdosta; two cousins, Mary Kirby and Harold 
Kirby, both of Tennessee.
 A private funeral service was held April 15 in the chapel of Carson McLane 
Funeral Home with burial in Westview Cemetery in Nashville.
 Carson McLane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
