Born March 15, 1937 in Lanier County to the late Butler and Betty Elizabeth Stone Exum, she was a homemaker and worked at Nashville Textile as a machinist. She was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church and was married to the late Leroy Dales. Survivors include daughter, Betty Lou Crispin of Tupelo, Miss; two sons, Robert Dales and Winston Dales, both of Nashville; three sisters, Lou Annie Crosby of Nashville, Louise Conger of Valdosta, Janice Newell of Baxley; brother, Tommy Exum of Valdosta; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held June 18 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Jim Williams and Johnny Hendley officiating. The church choir sang "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away." Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Curtis Shealey, John Blount, David Yeomans, Johnny Dales, Dewayne Dales, Hank Blanton. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Stone, Billy Nix, John Crosby, Cleos Yeomans. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
