Final Rites Monday for Mrs. C. E. Davis, Alapaha Resident
 Funeral services for Mrs. Hester Anne Tucker Purvis Davis (Mrs. C.E. Davis), 
Alapaha, were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Irwin County, Monday, August 
26, 1963 at 3:30 o'clock with Rev. E.L. Henderson and Rev. Payton Walker 
officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Vernon Lee, William Lee, Otha Lee, Kenneth Lee, Dempsy 
Harper and Eston Harper.
 Mrs. Davis died at Memorial Hospital, Waycross, Sunday, August 25, 1963 
following a long illness.
 She had lived in Irwin and Berrien counties all her life, and was a member of 
Bethlehem Baptist Church. 
 Born March 5, 1994 in Irwin Co., Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Richard and 
Sarah Harper Tucker. 
 Survivors include two sons, Arlie Purvis, Alapaha and Howard Purvis, 
Waycross; a daughter, Mrs. Ezlee Purvis Lee, Tallahassee, FL; three brothers, 
Henry Tucker of Alapaha, Bill and Oliver Tucker of Ocilla and a sister, Mrs. 
Drucilla Nobles, Thomaston, GA; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
 Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

First husband was Alston L. Purvis died 5-19-1940
