 Jackie Daniel Davis, Sr., 64, of Nashville died Jan. 26, 2008 at his residence.
 Born Feb. 9, 1943 in Greer, SC, he was the son of the late Hoyt and Ruby 
Freeman. He served in the Navy for four years and then 32 more years in the 
Army and the National Guard, having participated in Desert Storm. He also 
worked for Bayliner Corp. for over 15 years. He loved to spend time with his 
family outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, especially with his 
grandchildren.
 He is survived by his wife, Linda Davis of Nashville; sons and daughters-in-
law, Chad and Heather Davis of Nashville and David and Michelle Lanier of Ray 
City; grandchildren Beckett Davis and Tucker Davis of Nashville, Preston Lanier 
of Ray City; sister, Euline Jackson of Anderson, SC, Jay Avants of Greenville, 
SC, Harry Freeman of Charlotte, NC, Doug Freeman of Ohio; sister in law, Jean 
Dannunzio of Adel; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 
son, Jack Daniel Davis, Jr.; adopted parents, Durrell and Reecy Davis and his 
brother, Howard Davis.
 Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the chapel of Carson McLane 
Funeral Home with Mr. Ian Burgin officiating. Burial followed at Dasher 
Cemetery.
 Carson McLane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
