Gene Edward Dees, 71, of Nashville died March 23, 2014, after a brief illness.
 He was born March 26, 1942, to the late Bethal and Emmie Lee Pierce Dees in 
Quitman. He served 23 years in the U.S. Army with three tours. After retirement 
he worked at Moody Air Force Base Civil Service for another retirement as a 
master mechanic. He loved farming and was always happy  to help and teach 
anything he could about a garden. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, 
Bubba Dees and James Dees.
 Survivors include his wife, Helen Dees; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ken 
Tady of Edmond, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Deborah Dees of 
Nashville; son, Edward Dees of Nashville, son and daughter-in-law, SSGT Richard 
and Tina Dees of Hinesville; four grandchildren, Dylan E. Dees, Rachel E. Dees, 
Zachary Prebula, and Kelly Tady; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Phillis 
Dees of Thomasville; sister and brother-in-law, Claudie and Larry McQuatters of 
Lakeview, AZ; sister, Pat Tyson of Newberry, FL.
 A funeral service was held March 27 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Music Funeral 
Services. As per his wishes he was cremated following the service.
 Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
