Miss DeLoach and Mr. Mozell Spell had been to New Bethel Church to attend a meeting of the B.Y.P.U. and were on their way home, a distance of about four miles. There were four automobiles going along the road, the Spell car, a Ford roadster, being in the lead. A car from behind them drove around them and took the lead for some distance. The car ran out of gas and came to a sudden stop. The result was that the Spell car hit the rear end of the dead car, though it was a very light collision. Neither car was damaged, and no one in the cars appeared to be hurt, though Miss DeLoach turned pale and fainted, evidently from the excitement. She was taken up by Mr. Tom Pruette and brought to the Little-Gri(ffi) n hospital Sunday night, where her condition appeared to be all right. She was administered to there and the doctors stated that she would be all right in a little while and she was carried on to her home at Ray City. She did not show improvement, however, and death followed on Monday. Physicians stated that her death was caused by a ruptured blood vessel about the hear, due probably to the excitement. Her remains were taken to Glennville, Ga., where the family formerly resided, and the funeral will occur today. Miss DeLoach was very highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was 17 years of age. The report of her death was brought to this city this morning by Mr. Ralph Sasser of Thomasville, who has been a long time friend of the family and who went over to Ray City after hearing of the accident.
