Demele, 62, of Lakeland died October 27, 2004 at his residence. Born March 9, 1942 in Calaptria, CA to the late Eugene and Mabel Gunnels Demele, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Doris Demele of Lakeland; four sons, Patrick Demele of Lakeland, Patrick Paul Demele of Nevada, Donald David Demele of California, William Louis Demele of Washington; one sister, Mable Taddie of California; two brothers, Donald Demele and Carl Demele, both of California. Funeral services were held October 29 at 4 p.m. at United Methodist Church near Lakeland with Rev. Tony Crosby officiating. Rev. Tony Crosby sang "The Old Rugged Cross," the congregation sang "Amazing Grace" and "When We All Get to Heaven," and "I Want To Live" was played by tape. Interment was in Unity Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene Sellars, Larry Luke, David Keefe, Jimmy Mancil, Kem Mancil, Sam Shaw, Bo Royals, Chandler Sirmans. Music Funeral Home of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
