Walter H. Dix
	Walter H. Dix, well known farmer and retired produce dealer, died 
Saturday, Aug. 26, at Berrien County Hospital after a short illness.
	Mr. Dix was born June 20, 1891, in North Carolina, the son of J.M. and 
Ida Norman Dix.  He was married to Miss Nan Allred and had lived in Berrien 
County the past 40 years, residing at Rt. 2, Nashville.
	A faithful Christian and member of the Nashville First Baptist Church 
and a friend to all who knew him, he was a member of the board of deacons, a 
Mason and Shriner.
	Surviving besides his wife Mrs. W.H. Dix, Nashville:  are one daughter, 
Mrs. W.G. Tittle, Lakeland; one son, Jack Dix, Nashville; one sister, Mrs. T.S. 
Barnes, North Wilkesboro, N.C.; one brother, W.J. Dix, Cana, Va.; three 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
	Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 27, 4 p.m., at First Baptist 
Church.  The Rev. E. Donald Bowick, pastor, officiated.  Mrs. Donald Bowick 
rendered soft organ selections during the service.  Interment was in Westview 
Cemetery.
	The body lay in state in the chapel of Lovein Funeral until one hour 
before burial at which time it was carried to the church.
	Active pallbearers were:  Donald Powell, Oswell Maxwell, Charlie 
Daniels, Donald Harnage, Bob Clyatt, and Dorian Osborne.
	Serving as honorary pallbearers were deacons of the church with Arlie 
Harnage and Dewey Nash.
	Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
