Clements Everson lorieeverson@bellsouth.net January 4, 2012, 9:58 am The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg, SC Feb 8, 2006 Transcribed by Lorie Everson The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg, SC 2/8/06 Pruella Luke Doar, 95, of Bamberg, widow of Pelzer Owen Doar Jr., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2006, in Bamberg. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Doar was born July 7, 1910, in Ray City, Ga., a daughter of the late James Jackson Luke and Sarah Elizabeth Griner Luke. She retired as head housekeeper at the Charleston House (Charleston Air Force Base). She was former director of housekeeping at MUSC, a member of The National Housekeepers Association and a member of the O.E.S. She was also a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Denmark. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Denman of Denmark; two sons, Pelzer O. Doar III of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Robert T. Smith of Myrtle Beach; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
