(Bobby) Dobbs, 63, of Cairo died February 22, 2004 at his residence. Born October 2, 1940 in Montgomery, AL, to Maggie Smith Dobbs of Pelham and the late Richard Dobbs, he was retired from Honeywell in Clearwater, FL. He was a member of Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, FL and attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Cairo. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Veronica Dobbs of Cairo; two sons, Britt Dobbs of Alapaha and Todd Dobbs of Bainbridge; daughter, Dona Glasgow of St. Petersburg, FL; one brother, Wayne Dobbs of South Carolina; nine grandchildren. A memorial service was held February 25 at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Gibbs, pastor of Alapaha Baptist Church, and Rev. Ira Crump, retired minister, officiating. A eulogy was given by Joe Dixon, and Marian Dixon read messages from the grandchildren. Matt Dixon played prelude music and sang "Go Light Your World" as the grandchildren lit candles and presented a rosebud to their grandmother. Joel Dixon, guitarist and Drew Dixon, violinist, played and sang "Amazing Grace," "If You Could See Me Now" was also played. Allen and Allen Funeral Home of Thomasville was in charge of arrangements.
