She was born Aug. 11, 1938 in Logan County, OK, the daughter of the late Andrew Cooksey and the former Chloe Green. Survivors include her children, Phyllis (Freddie) Green, Beverly (Mike) Thomas, David (Chris) Dorminey; four granddaughters, Michelle (Brian) Wallstedt, Summer (Baye) Beauford, Amy Thomas and Leah Pickard; four great- grandchildren, Jacob, Chloe, Jesslyn and Jackson; her sisters, Bonnie Hudson, Ruby Moad, Edna Ozbirn, Helen Cooksey, and brother-in-law Milam Headley. Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home in Baldwin. Her brother in law, Rev. Al Dorminey of Old Kings Road Baptist Church officiated. Graveside committal services were held at 2 p.m. November 13 in Guthrie Cemetery, Nashville, where she will be laid to rest by her husband of 41 years, Gene Dorminey, and their beloved dog, "Buckshot." Prestwood Funeral Home in Baldwin was in charge of arrangements.
