J. Dorminey, 88, of Nashville, died December 12, 2014, at his residence. He was born October 13, 1926, in Colquitt County to the late J.W. and Alda Hall Dorminey. He was retired as the owner of Dorminey's Department Store, a member of cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church, and served his country in the united States Army Air Corps. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Dorminey and two sisters, Faye Nix and Annette Dorminey. He is survived by his wife, Nell Hooper Dorminey of Nashville; four daughters, Devonne "Von" (Randy) Nix of Magnolia Springs, AL, Debbie (Chuck) Strickland of Nashville, Dawn (Paul) Garrett of Guyton, and Dianne (Rodney) Browning of McDonough; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Dorminey of Brooks; sister, Glenda Collins of Valdosta. Funeral services were held on December 15 at 2 p.m. at Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall, Elder Dwight Marshall, and Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
