 Brittain Ashford "Britt" Dorsey,86, of Nashville died August 26, 2009, at 
Berrien Nursing Center.
 Born Nov. 26, 1922, in Wilcox County to the late Homer Ashford and Emmie 
Pendergrast Dorsey, he was the retired owner of B. A. Dorsey Oil and Propane 
Co., a member of Nashville United Methodist Church and served as the church 
treasurer for many years. He was a former member of the Berrien County Board 
of Education, the Georgia Tobacco Commodity Commission, director of the 
Goergia Propane Gas Association, a member of the original Nashville Rotary 
Club, and a Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn 
Guthrie Dorsey, who died in 1993.
 Survivors include his daughter, Dee (Steve) Shiver of Nashville; three sons, 
Bob (Gain) Gaskins, Doug (Peggy) Gaskins, Jeff (Allen)Dorsey, all of 
Nashville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held August 29 at 11 a.m. at Nashville United Methodist 
Church with the Revs. Russ Elkins, Jack Key and Tom Tippett officiating. Renee 
Gaskins provided selected music.
 Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers were Junior Bristol, Mitchell Moore, Randy Hancock, A.J. 
Guthrie, Timmy Hughes, Steve Perry.
 Honorary pallbearer were Ricky West, A.J. Bristol, Zeke Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, 
Glenn Dorsey, Rodney Hancock, Rudy Hancock.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
