 D.M. "Arthur" Dowdy, Sr., 61, of Enigma died January 19, 2004 in Tifton.

 Born April 26, 1942 in Turner County to the late Hez and Mattie Leverett 
Dowdy, he was a retired crop duster and a member of Corinth Freewill Baptist 
Church.

 Survivors include his wife, Bootsie Dowdy of Enigma; one son, Buddy Dowdy of 
Enigma; one daughter, Dobe Ward of Enigma; four sisters, Ruby Israel of Albany, 
Edna Broome of Enigma, Louise Blackaby of Louisville, KY, Darlene Tillman of 
Moultrie; four grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held January 21 in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home 
for Funerals with the Revs. Bruce Langley and Larry Cone officiating.

 Interment was in Oakridge Cemetery.

 Active pallbearers were Buck McCranie, Donald Chambless, Bo Eaton, David 
Tawzer, Raiford Barnes, Tim Carter.

 Honorary pallbearers were Mark White, Phil Cavenaugh, Donald Massey, Charles 
Cone, Wendell Lovett, Earl Lovett, Ricky Barnes, Raymond Barnes, J.T. Goff.

 Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
