Born Sept. 30, 1936 in Clinch County to the late Jeff Whittington and Emma Williams Whittington, she was a homemaker and attended Alapaha United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.W. Whittington and Chesley "Buddy" Whittington; four sisters, Janice Whittington, Lillian Corbitt, Onice Johnson and Ethel Cothran. Survivors include her husband, Myron Duchen of Alapaha; three daughters and one son in law, Tammy and Randy Stone and Melissa Henderson all of Alapaha and Diane Dean of Savannah; sons, Paul Henderson of Savannah and Jeff Henderson of Waynesville; five sisters and brother in law, Ruth Zenick and Foe Skinner both of Jacksonville, Doris Taylor of Brunswick, Elva Kasmallie of Hoboken, Janice and Dempsey Bennett of Homerville; brother and sister in law, Horace and Myrtle Whittington of Homerville; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; several other relatives. A memorial service was held Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel in Homerville. Roundtree Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
