He served proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946 on the U.S.S. Alabama from the North Atlantic to South Pacific. Paul met and married Lorraine (Magnuson) in Jan. 1945. He had a rewarding career in the Alaska salmon industry for 35 years, from Bristol Bay to southeast Alaska before retiring as Production Manager in Metlakatla. A full life including traveling in all 50 states, visits to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. He and Lorraine made many close friends through square dancing, and the Elks R.V. Club. Most of all he had so much joy and contentment with family being together to share life's activities and special events. He is survived by wife Lorraine (Magnuson) and blessed with his wonderful children Dianna (Don) Williams, Mark (Lucy) and Bryan. His son Stephen preceded him in death. His four grandchildren, Lynette (Tim) Carter, Carmen (Jammer) Trummert, Sean (Shene') Duggan and Chris Duggan, seven great grandchildren and foster daughters Tela (Mike) Sherman and Veta Hernandez (deceased). His extended family also includes the Hewa families. He has one surviving sister, Francis Parrish. A life well lived as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend that will be truly missed. A Funeral Mass celebrated by Father Ronald Belisle will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 601 West C St., Shelton, WA on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to any group that helps the less fortunate.
