 Helen Berle Stronider Duncan of Nashville died August 22, 2014, at Langdale 
Hospice House.
 She was born September 18, 1921, in Littleton, WV, to the late James Edward and 
Bertha Bell Church Strosnider. She was a member of the Montgomery County School 
Board and was passionate about reading, quilting and needlepoint. She was an 
active member of the UMC and was a member of the Rebecca’s. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, W.T. “Ace” Duncan.
 She is survived by her son, Stanley E. (Cheryl) Duncan of Nashville; two 
grandchildren, J. Paul (Barbara) Duncan of Charlotte, NC, and Christina (Jason) 
Downward of Nashville; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Downward, Diana Downward 
and Parker Duncan.
 The family held a private service and interment will follow at a later date in 
Weston, WV.
 Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
