Born April 14, 1945 in Berrien County to the late Isaac Wesley and Elevenia Adams Thomas Exum, he was a farm laborer and Army veteran of Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Florence Elizabeth Bailey Exum of Nashville; son, Kenneth Exum of Nashville; daughters, Juanita Marie Clark of Lakeland, Mary Holcomb of Sparks; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Annie Ruth Sirmans of Ray City, Barbara Blanchard of Sparks. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on May 4 at Long Bridge Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Dean officiating. Terri Wallace sang "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers were Travis Vickers, Andy Loper, Charles Lynch, Larry Boyd, Phillip Boyd, Walter McCall. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
