Born April 27, 1929 in Berrien County to the late Caulie and Lillian Pendarvis Fender, he was a retired contractor and a member of Lenox Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dean Dillard Fender ofr Lenox; two sons, Ronnie Fender and Murray Fender, both of Lenox; four brothers, Willis Fender of Mango, FL, James Fender of Moultrie, Donald Fender of Tampa, FL, Julian Fender of Brandon, FL; two sisters, Carolyn Sumner of Omega and Inez Gandy of Tampa; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held July 14 at 4 p.m. at Lenox Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Harris officiating. Patsy Register served as pianist. Roy Cook sang "It is Well With My Soul" and "O That Will Be Glory." The congregation sang "Victory in Jesus." Interment was in Staunton Cemetery. Active pallbearers were nephews, Bud Fender, Ricky Fender, Bruce Fender, Michael Fender, Mark Fender, Chris Fender, Randy Fender, Wendell Sumner, Robert Hart, Dennis Hart. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lenox Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
