Born August 12, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Elbert Franklin and Georgia Horton Flanders, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Ocala and a Mason (F&AM). He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Flanders. Survivors include his wife, Patty Flanders of Ocala; two step-sons, Aaron Shutts of Troutville, VA, and Adam Shutts of Ocala; three sisters, Marie Williams, Evelyn Ennis and Elnita Bennett all of Warner Robins; two step- grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 4 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Woodward officiating. Interment with full military honors was held at Mt. Paron Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
