She was born June 19, 1922, in Colquitt County to the late Alvin and Maggie Howard May. She was a homemaker, had retired from Nashville Textile, and was a member of Flat Creek Church. She was very active in the Easter Star, having held office of Worthy matron on three different occasions and was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lester Warren, Danny Nelms, and James Fountain; daughter, Mary Alice Jones; son James Lester “Buddy” Warren, II; six brothers; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson. She is survived by four granddaughters, Lucinda Tucker of TyTy, Kay Brock of Tifton, Vicki Rimes of Lebanon, Tn and Brittney Warren of Jasper; grandson, James Warren III of Valdosta; five sisters, Juanita Davis of Howell, Virginia Wetherington of Nashville, Aretha Drake of Lake Park, Marie Morgan of Ray City, and Idell Mosley of Macon; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 1 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment was in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
