He was born on Oct. 19, 1933 in Berrien County to Leland Key and Luell Bennett Gaskins. He was a retired truck driver for Ryder Trucking Co.; an Army veteran and member of Ray City United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lizzie Bell Mullis Gaskins of Ray City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Freddy and Sylvia Gaskins of Nashville, Steve and Darlene Gaskins, Valdosta; four grandchildren; and one brother; Henry Franklin Gaskins of Ray City. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday May 8, 2004 at Ray City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charlie Scarborough and Mr. Billy Creech officiating. Burial will be held in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. this evening. Pallbearers were Buddy Purvis, Scott Connell, Michael Powe, David Clements, Rodney Ray, Adam Gaskins, Rudolph Langford, Junior Palmer. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
