Mrs. Gaskins was born in Ware County to the late C.D. Scott and the late Clyde Owens. She was a homemaker and owner of Melba’s Gifts and Interiors. She was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church and the Philathea Sunday School Class. She was the widow of P.L. Gaskins. She was also preceded in death by a sister and granddaughter, Peggy Lewis. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Lynda Miley of Adel and Donna and Randy Eversole of Macon; son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Sue Gaskins of Alapaha; sister, Marilyn Rose (Dr. Ray) Allen of Pickens, SC; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday January 16 at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke, the Rev. Scott Allen, the Rev. Chris Allen and Dr. Ray Allen officiating. Lee Stallings sang "Amazing Grace," Jackson and Emojean Moore sang "How Great Thou Art," and Deborah Boyd sang "It is Well with my Soul" and "God Be With You" "Till We Meet Again," accompanied by Judy Parker, pianist. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight at Lovein Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Nashville First Baptist Church. Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
