She was born September 22, 1936, in Lowndes County to the late Walter D. and L Lillian Moore Mullis. She was a homemaker and member of Ray City United M Methodist Church. She was the widow of Jimmy Key Gaskins who died in 2004. She is survived by sons, Freddy (Sylvia) Gaskins of Nashville and Steve (Darlene) Gaskins of Valdosta; six grandchildren, Mandy (Michael) Powe, Adam (Jessica) Gaskins, Deanna (Scott) Dowd, Justin Gaskins, Rodney (Ashlie) Ray, Kyle (Brittany) Ray; four great-grandchildren; four sisters Betty McClellan of N Nashville, Reba Pruitt of Naylor, Dot Hall of Valdosta, and Jerri Roberts of V Valdosta. Funeral services were held October 4 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Terron Stonecypher and Mary Swain officiating. Musical selections on CD included “I’ll Fly Away,” “Amazing Grace,” and “When I get Where I’m Going.” Interment followed at Beaver Dam Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
