The Berrien Press--Francis Coleman Gates, 91, of Nashville died November 17, 
2003 at Berrien County Hospital.
 Born April 14, 1912 in Columbia County, FL to the late Edward J. and Fannie 
Mae Hayes Gates, he was a retired US attorney, a member of the Florida Bar 
Association, and a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, serving in WWII with the 
rank of sergeant. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was 
married to the late Ethelee Gaskins Gates.
 He is survived by one daughter. Buried at Gaskins Cemetery.
