The Berrien Press -- Edgar Lawson Giddens, 83, of the West Berrien community 
died February 15, 2002 at his residence.
 Born Jan. 24, 1919 in Berrien County to the late Henry W. Giddens and Belle 
Moore Giddens, he was a retired farmer and member of Pleasant Hill Missionary 
Baptist Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Dalpha Flanders Giddens of West Berrien, one 
daughter, Dean Williams of Nashville; one son, Julian Giddens of West Berrien; 
two sisters, Thelma Luke of Alapaha and Lois Bush of Starke, FL; seven 
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were held February 17 at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Jackie Connell and Olem Bennett officiating. The Pafford 
Family sang "When I've Traveled The Last Mile," "What Will I Leave Behind?:" 
and "Because He Lives." The congregation sang "Amazing Grace."
  Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
