Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Jackie Connell will officiate. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Lovein Funeral Home. Mrs. Giddens was born on Jan. 28, 1931 in Berrien County. She was the daughter of Lawrence S. Luke and Emma Lee Horton, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clark “"Pud"” Giddens, who died in 2001; a son, Jerome Giddens; a granddaughter, Amy Graham; and a brother, George Luke. Mrs. Giddens was a homemaker and was a retired weaver inspector with J.P. Stevens Company after 25 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and Tommy Smith of Nashville; a son and two daughters-in-law, W.L. and Kay Giddens of Ocilla and Annelle Giddens of Ocilla; three sisters, Allene Harrell of Alapaha, Altie Harris of Alapaha and Addie Horn of Oglethorpe; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
