Born in Cook County on October 21, 1937 to the late Charles Haven and Inez Elizabeth (Taylor) Myers, she was a homemaker, living in Berrien County in the Ray City area all of her life. Her greatest love was for the Lord and her family. Her past-times included making music and writing songs and poems. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ray City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Jackie Giddens and son-in-law, Rev. David Stalvey. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Donald Brogdon of Lakeland, Donna Sue Stalvey of Ray City, Daphinne and Michael Cooper all of Nashville; grandchildren, Kimberly and Billy Bowen, Scottie and Mika Brogdon, Rebecca and Eric Evans, Leanne and Nick Morris, Carl and Ashli Stalvey, Darren Cooper, Derrick Cooper, Danielle Cooper; great-grandchildren, Becky Lindsey, Casey Lindsey, Ty Bowen, Kinsley Brogdon, Tyler Evans, Natalie Evans, Suanna Morris, David Morris, John Haven Stalvey, Autrey Stalvey. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on January 7 at First Baptist Church of Ray City with burial following in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
