 The Berrien Press - John Gillis, Jr., 68, of Middleburg, FL, died November 18, 
2007. 
  He was born on June 11, 2939 in New Bedford, MA to John and Mae Gillis, Sr. 
He was a Chief Petty Officer, retired from the United States Navy after 21 
years of service, having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He loved to 
yacht and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
  Survivors include his daughter, Stacy Gillis, and his son, Cavin Pafford, 
both of Ray City, and his granddaughter, Abigail Gillis.
  Following cremation, the family took the ashes home for a family memorial 
service and then to the United States Navy for Burial at Sea.
  Cremation arrangement were under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 
Green Cove Springs, FL.
