She was born March 8, 1916, in Tifton to the late Henry Leon and Alice Eliza Sandefur Sumner. She was a homemaker and attended Nashville mission. She was the widow of Wiley Golden who died in 1984. She was also preceded in death by a son- in-law, James Tyson, four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Mattie Geneva Tyson of Nashville; son, Curtis Leroy (Marie) Golden of Albany; one brother, Albert Sumner of Tifton; sister-in- law, Juanita Golden; six grandsons, Paul (Cassandra) Golden, Huey (Janice) Golden, Travis (Stacy)Golden, Gary Golden, Greg (Patricia)Tyson and Jerry Tyson; 13 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, four step-great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 13 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. R. T. Castleberry officiating. Interment was in Oakey Grove Cemetery.
