Born January 4, 1920 in Berrien County to the late Jimmy and Ella West Gray, he was a retired furniture salesman, a Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Sapp Gray, five brothers, five sisters. Survivors include his wife, Wilva Rowe Gray of Tifton; one son, Leonard Gray of Enigma; one step-son, Jerome McNeese of Tifton; one daughter, Georgeann Simmons of Lenox; two brothers, Eugene Gray of Enigma and Carol Gray of Alabama; one sister, Betty Ellis Tifton; five grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren, three step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 30 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Revs. Terrell Roberts and Phillip Simmons officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Griner, Vernon Ellis, Ray Gray, Garvey Nichols Jr., Myron Harper, Carl Nichols. Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
