He was born on July 23, 1918 in Berrien County to the late Solomon and Elizabeth Faulkner Griffin. He was a retired Illinois State Trooper with 31 years service; member of Duncan Lodge 234 F& AM, Shriner in Hasan Temple, served seven years of service in the Merchant Marine during World War II and was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Mae Yopp Griffin who died in 1992. He is survived by his half-brother, William C. Griffin of Moorehead City, N.C.; a half-sister, Bessie Louise Highsmith, Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today, June 16, 2006, in Westview Cemetery.
