Ellis Medill Griffin, 93, of Nashville died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 at his 
residence.
He was born Aug. 13, 1912 in Berrien County to Samuel Mitchell and Viola 
Adkins Griffin. He was a retired civil service employee at Moody Air Force 
Base and was a member and deacon of Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church. He 
was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Mae Griffin who died June 3, 2004 
and a son, Earl Griffin who died in 1982.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Charlie Manning of 
Nashville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Griffin, Nashville, Freddie 
and Corrine Griffin, Drexel Hill, Pa.; three grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren; and one sister, Ida Commander of Valdosta.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at Long Bridge 
Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Robert Skinner and Elder Winston Boyett 
officiating. Burial will be held in Long Bridge Cemetery. The remains will lie 
in state at the residence until services.  Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
