The Berrien Press -- Betty Henley Griffin, 77, formerly of Nashville, died 
January 4, 2008 in Smyrna.
 Born October 3, 1930 in Valdosta to the late John and Edna Henley, she moved 
to Nashville in 1942 where her father owned a grocery store for a number of 
years. She graduated from Nashville High School in 1949 and attended South 
Georgia College in Douglas. She then worked in the insurance field for over 33 
years before retiring. She was a longtime volunteer at Belmont Hills and Brown 
Elementary Schools in Smyrna.
 Survivors include her husband, George Griffin of Smyrna; a son, Raymond 
Griffin of Atlanta; three daughters, Pamela Griffin of Buford, Kimberly 
Garrett of Springfield, VA, Lindsey Johnson of Smyrna; two brothers, John 
Henley of Milledgeville and William Henley of Shreveport, LA; three grandsons, 
Matthew Garrett, Christian Johnson, Griffin Johnson. She was preceded in death 
by her sister Evelyn Davis.
 A memorial service was held Jan. 6 in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home 
in Smyrna. Interment was in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
