 Mack Griffin, 90, of Alapaha, died Saturday Dec. 24, 2005, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 5, 1915, in Berrien County to Henry D. Griffin and Della Webb. 
He was a retired farmer and a member and Deacon Emeritus at New Griffin 
Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Board of Director for 
the Bank of Alapaha.

 He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Lamar Griffin.

 He is survived by his wife, Mary Zelda “"Jack"” Whitley Griffin, of
Alapaha; two 
daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Frances and Bobby Barfield, of Enigma and Sara 
Nell Nolan of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Jason and Linda 
Griffin of Enigma, Carol Howard and Mary Alice Griffin, of Valdosta and Barbara 
Griffin of Brookfield; one sister, Bessie Harper of Nashville; one brother, 
John Griffin of Alapaha; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

 Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at the New Griffin 
Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon and the Rev. Simm 
Youngblood officiating. 

 Interment will follow at Mt. Paron Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today, 
with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. at the Lovein Funeral Home, 
Nashville. 

 Active pallbearers were Mike Griffin, Lamar Griffin, Ward Griffin, Keith 
Barfield, Steve Nolan, David Nolan.

 Honorary pallbearers were Amanda Roberts, Joel Griffin, Daniel Griffin, Kevin 
Barfield, Kenny Barfield, Jill Brown, Tina Haughton.

 An honorary escort included the Board of Directors of Bank of Alapaha and all 
members of New Griffin Church.

— Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
