She was born Jan. 17, 1934 in Berrien Co. to the late Elijah Sylvester and Rhoda Jane Ford Taylor. She was a retired Physician's Office Nurse, having been employed with Dr. Y.F. Carter, Jr. in Nashville and Dr. Clay Dorminey Dorminey in Tifton; and was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church and Radiant Sunday School Class. She was the widow of W.C. (Bill) Griffin who died in 1965. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Griner Griner of Oxford, Lou and Wesley Parker, Nashville; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Margaret Griffin, Lake City, Fla.; one brother, Elwood Taylor, Nashville; five grandchildren, Larry (Chrystal) law, Billy and Margaret Griffin, Lake City, Fla.; one brother, Elwood Taylor, Nashville; five grandchildren, Larry (Chrystal) Griner, Covington, Rebecca Griffin, Gainesville, Fla., Will (Lyndsey) Griffin, Alapaha, Jennifer (Greg) Block, Nashville, Chase Parker and special friend, Jodee Tidwell, Nashville; three great-grandchildren, Abigail and Emily Griffin, Alapaha, Preston Griner, Covington. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Cleo Benefield, Jeanette Warren and Elnita Dukes and two brothers, Floy Taylor and Coy Taylor. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke, the Rev. J.W. Dukes, III and Mr. Larry Griner officiating. Jerry Stokes sang "Thank You," accompanied by Judy Gr Griffin. Interment will be held in Springhill Cemetery in Irwin Co. Visitation will be held today after 3 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Active pallbearers were Larry Griner, Jr., Will Griffin, Chase Parker, Greg Bl Block, Michael Warren, David Dukes. Honorary pallbearers were members of Radiant Sunday School Class and deacons o of Nashville First Baptist Church. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
