Born July 17, 1905 in Berrien County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Washington and Ellen Griner Rowe. She was a homemaker and member of Rowetown Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to the late Pearlie Griffin. Survivors include three daughters, Tera Morris of Alpharetta, Betty Brown of Cummings, Margaret Avera of Thomasville; two sons, Vinson Griffin of Alapaha, Densol Griffin of Valdosta; four sisters, Maude Rutherford of Tampa, FL, Wilva Gray of Tifton, Dorothy Warick of Palatka, FL., Melba Weldon of Hahira; one brother, Willis Rowe of Douglas; 13 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church with the Revs. Olem Bennett, Wayne McCrimmon, and Paul Owens officiating. Music was provided by the Paulk Family who sang “Just One Rose Will Do” and “Take My Hand, Precious Lord.” Interment was in Mt. Paron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Griffin, Tim Griffin, Steve Avera, Garland Avera, Charles Avera, Laverne Moore, Jimmy McGrath. Honorary pallbearers were Mack Griffin, John Griffin, Gene Griffin, Buck Rowe, Darwood Vickers, Olin Griffin, Dwight Handley, Carroll Griffin, Richard Carver, H.L. Carver.
