Griffin, Jr., 82, of Nashville died September 7, 2008 at his residence. Born September 25, 1925 in Berrien County to the late George M. and Rebecca Webb Griffin, he was a retired salesman with Devoe Paint Co. in Miami, FL; an Army veteran of WWII; and member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was married to Frances Louise Rowan Griffin who died May 26, 2008. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ben Dobbs of Valdosta; three sisters, Florie Hesters, Nashville, Doris Jernigan, Albany, Mellie Ussery, La; three grandchildren, Elissa Noyes, Boca Raton, FL, Matthew (Stephanie) Dodds, Columbia, SC, Jessica (Stan) Crance, Valdosta; five great- grandchildren; and brother, Mitchell Griffin of Sylvester. Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Loven Funeral Home with the Revs. Stanley Luke officiating. The church choir sang "Standing on the Promises," "Victory in Jesus," "How Great Thou Art," "When We All Get to Heaven" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," accompanied by Barry Spence. Interment was in Long Bridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Dodds, Stan Crance, Franklin Dismuke, Lee Stallings, Keith Lewis, Johnny Drake, Billy Retterbush. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Stallings, Paul Harris, Ronald McCranie, Don William, Marcus Hayes, Emmitt Lewis, Earl Cornelius, Leaouns Griffin, Don Haskins, Russell Nix, Larry Griner, Darrel Walker, Vinson Luke, Roy Miller, Ronald Dixon, Paul Nix, Bobby Nix, Clarence Cornelius, E.J.
