 Allen Eugene Grimes died November 5, 2013 in St. Petersburg, FL after a 
courageous battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia.
  Gene was born in Nashville and moved to Clearwater, FL when he was seven 
years old. He went to Clearwater High School. Following that, he moved to St. 
Petersburg. His entire career was centered in horticultural interests. He 
formed his first company, Seaboard Supply, selling wood products. He then 
formed Seaboard Productions that manufactured the products. He also was 
involved with real estate investments. He owned Grimes’ Iron horse Ranch for 30 
years where he cared for his cattle, horses, goat, dogs and cats. He served on 
the board of Home Federal, Barnett Bank and the advisory board of Nations Bank. 
He was a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary, served as president of St. Petersburg 
Country Club, and was a member of Polywogs. He was a member of Renaissance 
Vinoy Country Club, St. Petersburg Yacht Club and Wildcat Cliffs Country Club 
(NC). He enjoyed golf, travel and ranching. He was a loving father and husband.
 He is survived by his wife, Ginger; daughters, Pam and Dawn (Vickie); his step-
children, Aimee and Reuben (Heather); three grandsons, Julian, Bailey, Reuben.
 A celebration of his life took place at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home on 
November 9, at 4 p.m.
 Memorials may be made to the Association for Frontal Temporal Dementia, 
www.theaftd.org/or to Suncoast Hospice.
 Anderson McQueen Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
