He was born in Nashville on July 6, 1928, to the late Annie Wilkerson and J Jerry Linton Griner. Survivors include his wife Polly Griner of Covington, formerly of Nashville; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Greg Tinsley of Loganville, Judy and Ray Knight of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Judy Griner and Terry and Diann Griner, all of Oxford; sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and C.J. Mathis of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.. funeral services were held July 19 at 2 p.m. at Jersey Holiness Church After a prayer by Rev. Neil Bridges, Terry Griner spoke. The Griner children sang "In the Sweet Forever," and the grandsons spoke, followed by Rev. Nathan Tinsley, Rev. Jared Tinsley and Rev. Larry Griner, Jr. The Harvey Morgan, Jr. children of Nashville sang "Daddy's Hands." Rev. Neil Bridges spoke and the Morgan children sang "Look What I Traded for a Mansion," and Rev. Freddie Stone spoke. The Morgan children sang during the viewing "What a Day that Will Be" and and "Press Along, Weary Pilgrim." Interment was in Jersey Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Head speaking. Pallbearers were Jared Tinsley, Nathan Tinsley, Larry Griner, Jr., Jonathan K Knight, Matthew Tinsley, Charles Edwards. Meadows Funeral Home of Monroe was in charge of arrangements.
