Griner Died Last Friday Mr. Jerry W. Griner, well known and highly esteemed Berrien County farmer, died at his home seven miles north of Nashville last Friday morning at about 8 o’clock at the age of 71 years. He had been ill since last September from trouble attributed to old age. Mr. Griner was born in Colquitt and when ten years old moved to Berrien County with his parents. He had resided in Berrien County since that date, and was one of the county’s most highly esteemed citizens. He had farmed all of his life, and had lived at the place of his death for twenty years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Griner, highly esteemed citizens of years past. He was a believer in the Primitive Baptist faith. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Flat Creek church, conducted by Elder J.D. Mathis and Rev. Britt Hancock, both of whom paid a lasting tribute to his life. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended the last rites. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Surviving are his side, now 72 years of age, as well as the following brothers and sisters: Mr. H.T. Griner and a half-brother, Mr. Ancil Griner, both of Nashville; Mrs. America Cason of Adel, Mrs. William Gaskins of Nashville, and a half-sister, Mrs. Irena Harris of Cecil.
